Las Vegas Hotels and Lodging

When people think of Las Vegas, they usually picture luxurious
gaming hotels located on the five-mile world-famous Las Vegas
"Strip."

The famous resort hotel-casinos standing majestically along Las
Vegas Boulevard offer all the amenities a visitor could ever want.
Gaming, restaurants, entertainment, nightlife and recreation are
standard features. The newest properties offer at least one
celebrity show/production, a variety of restaurants, spa and health
club services and elegant retail shops. Gaming hotels typically
maintain clean, modern guest rooms. The newest mega-resorts are
building more luxurious rooms catering to upscale tourists and
business travelers.

Advance reservations are recommended. Room rates fluctuate and are
usually higher on weekends, during holiday seasons and heavy
convention periods.

Non-Gaming Hotels

You may be surprised to know that you don't have to stay in a gaming
hotel when you come to Las Vegas. Local non-gaming hotels appeal to
a wide range of tastes - from modest accommodations to upscale
resorts. Ironically, the vast majority of non-gaming hotels are just
off the "The Strip."

Many non-gaming properties feature a variety of amenities
including outdoor pools and fine restaurants. A number of new
non-gaming hotels have added variety and glamour to resort life.

In addition, there are a number of extended-stay hotels available
for rent by the day, week or month -- including the Meridian, Polo
Towers, Residence Inn by Marriott and Budget Suites.

amenities but the rooms are usually clean and functional.

You'll also find a number of budget-priced chain motels including
The Days Inn Downtown and the Econo-Lodge Downtown. The largest
Motel 6 in the country is located just a mile east of "The Strip."
If you want to get away from all the hustle and bustle of "The
Strip," drive to the Bonnie Springs Motel located 18 miles out of
town off Charleston Boulevard.
